I know I am only two hours away from home and I do go home often, but I am not there every day like I used to be. Last night when I was getting ready for bed it occurred to me that I do miss a lot of things from home. Here's just a few of them:
1) The creaky upstairs floor. You can usually tell who is getting up by what noises the floor makes
2) The rickety stairs. No one can ever get down them without being announced.
3) All the windows in the living room. College dorms are so closed in. You never know how stuffy it is in the dorms until you lose the window ventilation. Not to mention the wonderful light they let in! =)
4) The ice-cold floors in the winter. We heat with wood so most of the time when I get up, Dad hasn't started the stove yet. It wakes you up fast, though. =P
5) Laying in bed with my sister who is scared of the storm till she falls asleep
6) My sibling's laughs.
7) All the animals. You may not know this but we used to have a TON of lizards. People called us a zoo.
8) But mostly the fellowship with my family. Just spending time with them. They really are great people!
Moving on to different stages of your life can be tough, fun, exciting and different. College is really one of the first of those stages I have had to experience. It's been tough but wonderful! I would not change these two years of my life for anything.
