Result: PASS

So I went down to Ankeny this last weekend to take my exam. When I got there Friday I met a very nice man named Officer Jonathan Rogers. Apparently I was speeding in a school zone (which I honestly had no clue about) so I got a ticket. He was very nice and apologetic about the whole thing. God, however, used the experience to humble me. How many times do I catch myself on the interstate knowingly going 80 mph and still don't get caught?? And the ONE time that I speed without knowing it is the ONE time I get a ticket. How ironic is that? =)
But with that escapade over; Julie, Hannah and I went shopping. I have never had so much fun shopping in my life!!! I wish I would have brought my camera to capture the event, but I didn't. It was so fun!!!
Then on Saturday, I took my test at 1:00 p.m. and. . . . . I PASSED!!! It was a more difficult test than I thought it would be but it's over!  And I passed! =)
The rest of the weekend I spent with friends, church family, etc. Overall it was a relaxing weekend, and now it's back to the real world. Honestly, it was fun and sad at the same time – fun to see all my friends but sad that I was not there with them.
God has a plan and a purpose for me that I have yet to figure out. I am so excited for what he has in store for me next!  =)
Until then,
~Crissy =)

My New Lens!!!

So I just recently bought a new lens. It is a 55mm fixed lens and is AMAZING!

Since I have been studying this week, I have not been able to take it out much but here are a few pics I took with it. Some are original and others have been played with. =)

I am looking SO forward to actually having time to play with the lens more.

Sister for Hire

I found out today that my sister wants to get a Chinchilla for a pet. We used to have one but, as all animals do, he died. I'm not even sure if she remembers him. At any rate, she wants one. She would even buy it with her OWN money! But alas; she doesn't have enough. So I mentioned that she could do chores for a price and earn some money that way. Mom just chuckled and said, "Out of your pocket, I assume." And thus my sister became my servant. I could have been really mean, but I wasn't. I gave her chores like cleaning the table, unloading the dishwasher, making her bed, etc. Most of the jobs will gain her $0.25 per time. In the end, she might be bringing that Chinchilla home sooner than she thinks if she is dedicated to working for a few weeks. =)
Here is a picture of her with the chart that I made her.

One Week

I know I haven't written in several . . . ok months, but this must be a quick note because I have a lot to do.
This is the beginning of my one week off to work on getting my technician's license. I have taken one whole week off to work on the online practice stuff that my boss, Aaron, has given me to do. It's an amazing program and extremely detailed. . . but that makes it very long and tedious. Oh, well. =)
The plan is to work on the online stuff this week and get that all done. Then I'll review all the next week to take the exam that Friday.
I still need to get signed up for the exam. Aaron gave me a couple of websites but that was a while ago. I found a website that I signed up to take the test. All that is left in that area is figuring out where I can take it. I would love to take it in Ankeny so I can see friends that weekend too, but we shall see. haha So pray that I can figure all that out and pass the test the FIRST time. =)

Hello and Goodbye

This last week was amazing! Ok, so I graduated – big deal, right? Yeah. . . well, it kind of is a big deal. I know it was only a two-year program but still it is an accomplishment. I am official with all the "rights and privileges thereof." It's so exciting! But there is a downside to graduating – leaving.
It didn't come as a shocker, but it was still hard. Goodbyes are never easy. I know that I'll be visiting a lot but it won't be the same. I'm an "alumnus" now. Haha So weird to say. But hey, it was all worth it. I have to admit, the last couple of days were not hard at all for me, cause I had already cried it all out. I was actually really excited for the big day! Here are some pics of the big weekend:

I am planning on going to NIACC now to get a diploma for legal stuff and end up being something like a paralegal. I can't wait!
Now I'm home with lots of time to spare . . . for a week anyway. . . to clean up the house, get rid of stuff, and to unpack. It will be a glorious feeling when it's all done. I also need to study for my technician's license test. That won't be fun, but I am looking forward to the rewards that I will get because of it.  =)
Ok, this is all for now I think. I'll see Y'all later!  =)

Family Time

So I haven't written in a long time . . . and I am sorry for that. There is way too much to talk about so I am just going to start anew. This last week was really busy despite the "freedom" given to us by Mission's Conference. Just because we don’t have regular homework and deadlines does not mean that we have more time to do things than before. I think we actually have less time to do stuff. BUT, Mission's Conference was AMAZING!!!! I honestly don't think I appreciated it enough until it was over. There were three speakers and a few workshop speakers that came. Oliver Meyer from Germany, Percy Huaman from Peru, and Carlos Heron from Brazil. They were wonderful speakers. Pastors Percy and Carlos had to speak through interpreters, so their sermons were much simpler than what we are used to here at Bible College. But that was the blessing of it all. The main theme of the week was "Enlarge My Heart," and they did a phenomenal job of getting that across.
The Friday of Mission's Conference we had our Spring Banquet. That was so much fun! They decorated the church beautifully! They had AMAZING food and fun videos to watch to pass the time. It was a beautiful night all in all. After the supper and activities, Julie, Caitlin, and I came back and watched Tangled. Best movie ever!  Here are some pics of that night:

So the weekend was great cause my brother, Mitchel performed for Talents For Christ (TFC) and Hannah, Brandon and I went to watch him play piano. He did really well. There were a few mistakes but no one is perfect. All in all, he and three others got 1's!!! That is a really good rating especially for a first-year contestant. We were so proud of him!
That night we stayed in a hotel here in Ankeny so that my family could come visit my church, Community Baptist Church. I was so excited to be able to share it with them. We went swimming for a little bit and then we watched Tangled. Yup, two days in a row for me. =) The next day my church welcomed them with open arms. I am so thankful for my Community family.
Well. . . that was a summary of my weekend and such. I'm off to study for a Doctrine Survey test. Have a good night y'all.

Let Me Sum Up. . .

Ok. I am a terrible blogger because I start a blog and then don't do anything on it for months! I truly am sorry because I don't even have a good excuse. So let me explain. . . . no, let me sum up. =)
I have been very busy with a lot of things. First I had to finish classes and got Bs! Then I came home and worked. Every day, really. A few days I took off cause of b-days or something. I truly am very thankful for my job and a boss who says that whenever I want to come back I can! He doesn't even want me to GO! Praise the Lord!
Over break I have been working mainly but I have really enjoyed having time to bond with my family – especially my sister! =) One night I came home from town with a cookie and I gave it to her. The next night I came home from work and she had a cookie in her hand saying, "You gave me a cookie, now I'm giving you a cookie!" She's so cute! Lately I have been fixing clothes and such. I fixed my two coats and a pocket of Dad's. Today I had to fix a shirt of mine and Tina wanted to sew. So I gave her a black handkerchief and she is sewing patterns in it. I should mention that she just had a birthday on the 5th. She is now 6 years old! I can't believe it! But she is such a help around the house for Mom. I love her so much! But anyway, she is now sewing a black handkerchief for the fun of it. She still gets mixed up on what way she needs to go and I have to fix it but still. . . how else is she gunna learn?
Jonah (my nephew) is going to be 4 months old soon. The time goes by so fast! When I first came home, I had a cold so I couldn't hold him. . . for a whole month! Finally I got better and all I was suffering with was allergies so I got to hold him. =) one of the happiest days of my life!!  But now the poor guy has a cold! We are praying that he gets over it fast!
So I bought a new pair of glasses this week. I'll be picking them up on Saturday so I'll have to post pics when I get them. I was also hoping to get my hair done this week but that won't happen yet. I'll post pics of that too – the before and after ones.
Well I can't think of anything else off the top of my head so I'm off to do something.
Until next time,
CrissyMae
