My Weekend So Far

Well Friday night I went ice skating for Emily's birthday. There was a group of about 10 - 15 of us and it was so much fun!!! I'll put up some pics of it.

This picture needs an explination.  .  . It was "Inclement Weather"
When we got back we had brownies in the student center. They were SO good!!! Then my and Hannah's friend Chris showed up. He drove all the way from Maranatha Baptist Bible College for a visit. This was the first time I had gotten to meet him in person. It was so much fun! We just talked that night but Saturday was different. We played some games, went to the soccer game, and then went out for ice cream and, would you believe it, by that time, he had to leave. It was a sad departing but I have confidence he'll come for another visit at some point in the future.
But before he left I took this picture. . .

Well, I have done some reading but there is still some more to do. I have this philosophy that if I do all my reading for the week during the weekend, my week is so much lighter as far as home work goes. =)  So that's what I'm doing. And I have such a light week of homework anyway. It will be so nice for a change. =) So farewell for now!

I Don't Like Buggs

So tonight we had Awana. Most of you might know what Awana is but I will tell you anyway. Awana is an acronym for:
Approved
Workmen
Are
Not
Ashamed

Taken from the verse in 2 Timothy 2:15. "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

I work with the 1-3 yr olds. Talk about fun! I love the kids there! They are so sweet! =) Tonight was a normal night. Nothing fun to report, really, but we did get on the topic of bugs. Madison is one of the girls in Puggles and she is the smiliest kid around!!! SO ADORABLE!!!  She would say, "No. I don' wike buds." We would all laugh and then she would say, "I wike fods (frogs)."   =)   <sigh>   I think it's something you had to be there and see in order to appreciate it fully.

Well I do have some homework left to do, I think, so I am off. Besides, the internet is going to get shut off in like 10 minutes anyway. Have a great day, Ya'll! =)

Things I Miss

I know I am only two hours away from home and I do go home often, but I am not there every day like I used to be. Last night when I was getting ready for bed it occurred to me that I do miss a lot of things from home. Here's just a few of them:
1)      The creaky upstairs floor. You can usually tell who is getting up by what noises the floor makes
2)      The rickety stairs. No one can ever get down them without being announced.
3)      All the windows in the living room. College dorms are so closed in. You never know how stuffy it is in the dorms until you lose the window ventilation. Not to mention the wonderful light they let in! =)
4)      The ice-cold floors in the winter. We heat with wood so most of the time when I get up, Dad hasn't started the stove yet. It wakes you up fast, though.  =P
5)      Laying in bed with my sister who is scared of the storm till she falls asleep
6)      My sibling's laughs.
7)      All the animals. You may not know this but we used to have a TON of lizards. People called us a zoo.
8)      But mostly the fellowship with my family. Just spending time with them. They really are great people!
Moving on to different stages of your life can be tough, fun, exciting and different. College is really one of the first of those stages I have had to experience. It's been tough but wonderful! I would not change these two years of my life for anything.

Some Glimpses of Faith

So the other day I went out with my photo buddy and took some pics around Faith. We only spent about 15 - 20 minutes but I thought I'd show you a few of what I took and a few others from before. . . so enjoy!  =)

New To Me

Hey Yal!

This is all new to me so I have to make a few disclaimers. First of all, this blog is purely for fun only. It's a place where I can go and post pictures that tell stories. Some will just be of fun, family times while others will be my version of "professional pics." It's just me learning about life in general.

Second disclaimer; I am a Christian. That means I have accepted Christ's personal, free gift of eternal life and I know that I am going to heaven when I die. Do You?? If your answer is no or even I Think So, then talk to me. I really want you to know for sure where you are going.

So anyway; have fun, comment, talk to me - I want to hear what yal have to say instead of me just talking. Ok?
